Theres an very urgent situation we ‘re asked to help and we dont know how to help to be honest. Meet Dana, a lurcher cross around 1,5 years old. This Dana may be black and shepherd mix but its not our Adana, the dog we already have at the shelter. This Dana is a shepherd/greyhound mix, very common in Cyprus now cause pure breed greyhounds are not allowed in hunting. Locals breed greyhounds with shepherds mostly so will be large size and strong to run and catch hares. Dana with her sister due to looking more shepherd, were abandoned but they were found by a couple who managed to rehome the one sister. Dana didnt find a home but her foster home couldn’t keep her any longer due to a health issue that occured. We ‘re asked to help Dana and take her but we said no cause as we repeat in every post we do, we dont have space. We can not kill ourselves. We cant keep taking dogs that we have no space to put them. As much as we feel sorry for Dana, we wont take her and we dont know where she will end up. She may go at the pound, in the streets or wherever. We are full and cant take her. We cant put a large size dog that was used to living in a home alone with his humans, in a cage in the shelter. Dana will be scared and will react making the other dogs to react towards her. We cant risk putting 3 or 4 large dogs in a cage, it can be very bad.
We dont knon if anyone of you will feel sorry for Dana and offer to help her
If anyone is interested, message us to arrange a meeting with the dog but please be soon cause time is against her. Dana is in Cyprus, Larnaca.
