We 're trying very hard to find somewhere for this old boy. Don's cough gets worse day by day and we seriously think that some day will just drop dead from it. Our very old yorki oldie is not coping with the dust and heat we have at the place. Plus his heart issue isnt helping things. Hes on heart meds already but the whole situation is getting worse so we 're giving it another try.
Would anyone in Cyprus foster him? We need someone close to us so he will be monitored by our vet every few months. That is if he makes it that long. Our vet told us that the days or weeks he lives from now on, is a gift.
He can not fly abroad so please if you 're not in Cyprus, dont ask us about sending him to you. He wont make it though the flight which is why we would be very grateful if someone can foster this old boy. He needs the quiet of a home, not the madness and noise we have here with all the dogs around. We know that his chances of being adopted are very limited so we 're asking just about fostering.

Hes also gorgeous isnt he? A real stunner like his brothers. Last boy from the 3 we started posting a few days ago. We posted Sylvio, then Leonidas and now its Gregoris turn.
As his brothers, Gregoris is almost 5 months old and he will be medium to large size. We estimate him around 15 -18 kilos final size. From the 4 pups, hes the calmest, the most quiet. The others will come to greet and play with you but Grego will go in his house and observe whats going on from far. When we 're not around he plays with his brothers but when we 're there, hes shy bless him. He does love to run like a loonie all the time when its play time but hes not the pup that will put his nose into everything. Hes more placid, more calm. Gregoris is not so confident like Sylvio and Leonidas and he will need to be adopted in a calm home with other dogs or work from home parents if alone.

The first days, Connie was shy and didnt know what to do. How to behave, if we were a threat to her and her babies. Her foster mom told us that when she moved her hands quickly, Connie was putting her head down and was terrified. She would froze if she heard her raise her voice to shout to someone. It was obvious that she was hit by her owner. Now she goes to her foster mom and touches her with her nose for a cuddle, a kiss on the forehead. Still not fully opened but shes more relaxed and knows that she and her pups are saved.
As we promised, we 're posting photos of our sweet momma. You can see that shes skinny and her ribs are showing. Also that shes hairless low at her back and has less than half the fur she should have. Now shes got a full bowl 24/7 with food, she gets chicken once a day, good quality canned food again once a day, pills for anemia, for her intestines, vitamins and has a bath every 3 days with mild medicated shampoo and her nipples are washed again so the pups wont be drinking the chemicals of the shampoo. We will post photos of her again in a few days and you will see the difference shes made. We 're proud to say that shes slowly gaining weight which is a big achievement.

What a foster home does eh? Shes shiny, shes smiling, shes relaxed, more calm. Rona is enjoying being in foster care and it shows with that big smile.
It was a surprise when a lovely lady offered to foster one of our big dogs. We dont have every day such offers. People in general are afraid to foster large size dogs so when she said she wanted to foster one of the girls, knowing their character we suggested Rona. Shes more confident, more stable and relaxed than her sister. Maria is more active, more stresshead. Shes a working dog than needs to do something while Rona is more calm. Plus Maria needs a doggy friend and Rona doesn't.
So Rona is now around a month in her foster home and we 're already seeing lots of changes. Her foster mom verifies it as well. Shes learned to walk on lead, to be more relaxed and sociable with other people she sees on their walks. She knew about walking on lead before but we are in an isolated area so didnt see much people walking their dogs. We learned that shes fine with cats since she lives with one. The only thing thats shes not so good with is kids. Knowing her, she will brilliant with them once she learns how to behave around them. Shes not a crazy dog that will jump up and down and knock down a child but she still needs to learn how to behave which she is doing slowly.
In case you didnt watch this girls story, Rona is a belgian shepherd mixed with another shepherd. We knew her mom, she was the kindest soul but her owner shot her and one of her pups cause he wanted to get rid of them. We managed to rescue 3 girls from her pups and one of them is already adopted in Holland. Shes close to 1,5 years old and shes large size, around 24-25 kilos.

We still have this sweet girl. Francis is one of the dogs we hoped that she would be snapped up but unfortunately she didn't. Shes so beautiful, such a joyful puppy when shes with humans.
Francis is an english pointer cross pup around 9-10 months old. Not a large size, shes medium and we estimate her around 15-16 kilos. Shes of course bouncy and loves to run around, to check everything she sees and smell if of course. Being in nature is her life and we cant blame her for that. We would love to see her adopted in a family with children and other dogs in the countryside. She can be an only dog but shes an active doggy since shes a pup, it would be best if she has playmates. Francis isnt good with cats so she needs a cat free home.
As all our dogs, our sweet girl is fully vaccinated, chipped and neutered. We cant have a dog not treated medically, we cant risk any dogs getting sick or have pregnancies. We already have more than enough pups in Cyprus than we can handle. She knows about going on a walk with a lead but shes not toilet trained due to living in a cage.

Leonidas turn to be posted. Yesterday was Sylvio, today Leonidas and tomorrow Gregory, the 3rd boy from this litter. Then Lanie, the girl from the litter.
The pups are around 4,5-5 months old and will be medium to large size. They are ariegois crossed with greek hound, geka as the locals call it and si ce both breeds are tallish hounds, the pups will be the same. As you can see, the boys have the looks of the ariegois, white body and black markings on the head with tan details. The girl has the look of the geka, black body with tan details. Leonidas is the smallest in size of the four and the most active. Hes full of mischief bless him. Hes fine with dogs of course, humans and surprisinly fine with cats. He does bark at them but only cause he doesn't know what they are. We dont know when he grows up if will be hostile toward cats but hounds usually hate them.
Like all pups he loves to play, to run and put his nose into everything. He loves cuddles and playing with humans. Hes chewing stuff, anything that he sees cause hes teething. Leonidas is around 10-12 kilos currently. The pups are very sweet and timid even though they are bouncy and playful. They are pups, of course they will be playful.

We have a stunning boy for adoption and hes called Sylvio. We have 3 stunning boys actually and the sweetest sister. Sylvio and his siblings are the 4 pups we got from the pound a few months ago. We didnt have any space then and the pups went to a kennel.

Hello from one of our new additions. A very smiley puppy called Theseas. We say puppy cause hes around 6-7 months old but it shows isnt it? You can tell that hes a young puppy.
You can tell that hes a young puppy.Theseas is a kokoni crossed with a staffy or a frenchie? The bridle colour is a distinctive characteristic of these bully breeds and hes got their big eyes as well. Excelt the colours and eyes, the rest characteristics are like kokonis. He is almost medium size, around 12-14 kgs. Hes just a bit tall for a kokoni? Actually hes looking an XL kokoni.
Our smiley boy loves cuddles and hes verybplayful. We 're guessing that he was adopted for a kokoni and when he grew larger that the usual 6-7 kgs that kokonis grow up, his family dumped him believing he will be much bigger. Many adopt cute small pups who grow up into not cute pups who need toilet training and lots time to for walks etc. A dog is a huge responsibility and many people dont want that.
Theseas as an intelligent boy, will fit in any family. We believe hes ok with cats as well as dogs and humans. We just didn't have much time to check him with them but so far he didnt show any aggression towards the cats. He will really blossom in a busy house cause hes eyes are full of sparkle and life. Someone else got a golden ticket a few days ago and left the island. Georgie whos one of our dappled pups, is the only girl from the litter whos still available and needs a home.
Our sweet pup has the geka look, the greek harehound whos a common gundog here. She is like all her siblings are close to 5 months old now. Shes of course a hound cross. She a really sweet, cuddly and sociable pup who loves playing. She also smart and with parents that will give her attention, Georgie can learn lots of tricks. We see how she behaves and we know shes amazing.
All the pups from this litter will be medium sizes around 14-20 kilos. We believe Georgie will be around 14-17 kilos, shes one of the smaller pups. The girls are usually the smaller pups, the more delicate and Georgie is no exception of that.

We posted 2 of the three pup then, Booboo the beige girl and Cici the black girl.Booboo is 4? Kilos right now and shes 4,5 months old. That means she will be around 7-8? when shes an adult. All 3 pups are smallish size. Only Sonia is taller than the 2 girls, shes got the frenchie daddy so dad may be indeed a frenchie. Booboo and Cici though have kokoni body shape. They very small pups. Short and part furry which means that the dad of these two was a kokoni.
The girls are super friendly with anything. They love humans of any age, dogs and cats. They dont have a prey drive and their size makes them very easy to be adopted in any home. Even small homes such as apartments and bungalows. They are not jumpers or climbers and dont require much space to run. Their little feet cant run a lot.

Looking at this pup almost 2 months after we got him, we cant help but wonder if hes a relative of our Mike. You think so? 
Their colours are the same. The look, their fur. Their body shape. Its really like Mike was his dad but no chance of being. Its like we kinda clone Mike and we have another Mike after hes adopted and at his home months now.

He was hiding in the corner, didnt want to play with the other pups. We did wonder, what did that ........ did to this poor baby and hes so scared. It took some attention, lots of love, lots of care and now Zenon is one of the most sociable pups we have at the shelter. He loves to play with us and the other dogs. He loves to run at play time and sniff around. He makes us smile remembering our Mike who behaved the exact same way even though he was 2,5 years old.
As much as we want to guess what breed Zenon is, we cant so please dont ask us. We know hes a big pup and he will be a big dog, around 22-25 kilos when hes adult. He will be leggy, thats for sure cause look at those long legs. Now hes around 5 months old and hes between 12-14 kilos.
Please give this boy a share. Zenon needs to find a home the soonest. We got Mike at 1,5 months old and he was adopted at 2,5 months old. He spend almost 2,5 years in a cage cause he was a crossbreed that had a usual look like Zenon. For us, such dogs are stunning but unfortunately not everyone agrees with us. Please dont let Zenon be a Mike. We dont want any more Mikes. We want doggies that are adopted in a couple of months.

After 4- 5 hours in 4 continuous days and countless photos, we managed to get one good photo of Simba!! Hes so shy, such a lousy poser bless him that he tries to hide and sits behind others.
This stunning boy is one of the bush pups, one of the pups that are spaniel crosses. Simbas markings are similar to a brittany spaniel and his fur proves that one of his ancestors is long haired. Hes such a handsome pup, a kind loving boy. He will be spaniel size and hes already around 12-13 kilos. Like all pups, hes active. He loves to play with the rest pups, to sniff whats around him. To run of course like a looney up and down. Hes not a barker, hes a quiet boy and hes not bothered much about cats which is good.
We would love to see this boy in a home. He already spend half his childhood in a cage, he doesn't have to spend the rest of it as well. He can be your best friend if you give him a chance. What we were afraid for this impressive lady, happened. What we didnt want to happen when we got Julia and her pups. She became one of our long residents. 
Shes over a year now with us so yes, Julia is one of the shelters long residents. Shes too one of her gorgotten strays, an ignored shelter dog. Her pups were adopted of course and they are over a years old. Only her is still in a cage waiting and waiting.

The struggle we had to rehome them and our efforts to try and socialise her cause our big lady, was a stray for 1-2 years.
Julia is a lab/shepherd mix. Shes got 70% of the lab characteristics. Her body shape and weight are the ones of a labrador. Shes sociable like labs. She loves food, water. No chance of being aggressive to strangers. Shes wary though, shes a bit anxious like shepherds are. She wants to check everything. Shes a lovely mix of both characters and we hoped that she would find easily homes but it didnt happen. People dont like large adult dogs, especially mixedbreeds.

A last minute addition in our family. A beautiful rottie cross boy whos life was in danger. His owner due to terminal illness could no lo ger look after him and he was in danger of being shot. The rest villagers of the area were afraid of him and wanted him disappeared. We know that other strays that appeared in the area were shot cause of them.
Roman as we called him, is over 10 years old and hes a sweet gentle oldie who has started to have difficulties in walking. He is full rottie size bless him. Without even being walked before, he went with us for a small walk and is so well behaved. Not a barker, gentle and an absolute sweetheart. We dont know if anyone would want to adopt him but its ok. We dont mind. We already have 6 oldies that life with us and one in a long time foster. If anyone could foster this boy as a long time foster as well, we would cover his vet expenses.

A very handsome boy came to our shelter a few weeks ago. The pup cause hes a young pup even though he looks big, is around 7-8 months old. He was found outside the old farmer we used to help with taking the strays he found. The pup went to the pound as we didnt have any space then and we got him from there later.
Giorgio is a gascoigne/beagle pup and hes medium size so far. He has some growing left to do but he wont be big size. Hes like a petite blue de gascoigne, that size exactly. In a way thank god je doesn't have the mischievious beagle character. Hes timid and quiet like the gascoignes. Hes gentle and very human oriented. We put him with old Thalia cause the rest dogs were bullying him. She may be a nosey old pesky lady but shes fine with him.
Of course Gio is amazing with other dogs and humans. We have mixed reactions about cats but its best if he goes to a home without cats. With humans though hes amazing, we would trust him with kids of any age. The worst he can do is put his nose in your face and lick you.

Would anyone help this old yorkie boy? We got him a few months ago with 2 other small doggies who are adopted. Kanella and Ruda found homes easily since they mini kokonis but Don is much older than them and no one wants to adopt an old dog. We understand thats and we know hes very old plus hes got a heart problem, thats why we didnt ask so long for someone to foster or even adopt him. He's here with us at the farm, hes free to go where ever he wants. He eats canned food since he has very few teeth left. Hes not having a bad life but the temperatures are starting to go up and he started to struggle. The heat really gets him and his heart may not cope as we will have 40-45c most of the summer.
Thats why we 're asking now for help with him. Would anyone in Cyprus foster or adopt him? He cant fly, he wont make the flight so it has to be in Cyprus. Don is around 4 kilos, we fatten him up a bit and he needs grooming to be honest. Hes seriously very quiet, the only you hear him do is cough cause the farm has a lot of dust and its affecting him. One of the newest additions, our Erene which means peace in greek. Yes, we named her Erene cause shes exactly a peaceful doggy, a loving calm girl whos fine with any dog we put her with, with humans of any age and even cats.
The sweet shepherd mix girl is a young pup, shes between 1-1,5 years old. She was abandoned up on the mountains and managed to walk slowly slowly before she starves to death and go to a house up on the mountains. Thank god for her, the house wasn't abandoned as they usually are and the people there helped her. Shes now with us 2 months now and has filled up nicely. Shes taken her pills cause she was positive to erlichia which is very common among strays. 99% of the strays have ticks on them so thateans erlichia. Its treatable though and shes fine now, that why she gained weight and has a healthy fur now.
Erene isnt the big large size shepherds usually are. Shes more compact, more delicate. We estimate her around 18-20 kilos and this is her final size. Isnt she a cutie? And she looks like some other dogs we have doesn't she? Meet Lulu, shes the third pup from Tashas older littler. Shes the sister of Dalia and Marino, the smaller in size than them and shes pregnant. Actually she already gave birth to one adorable pup but we didnt even have to post her as pregnant.
Lulu has the same markings as her brother and obviously the same underbite. Thats the peki characteristic all 3 pups have. She is close to 10 months old now and shes around 5 kilos. Shes also very sociable besides adorable, she loves humans and gets along with dogs and cats like her mom and siblings. She tried 1-2 times to chase a couple of cats but the cats didnt take her seriously, they hissed at her and that was it.
Of course due to the pregnancy shes not up for adoption yet. Her mom and her other 2 siblings are for adoption if anyone is interested and Tasha is in foster care in Uk. Another stunning boy and this time is Zacky, one of the litter with dappled pups we got a few months ago from the country side. The pups from the litter are now 4 months old and we know for sure that they will be medium size, around 15 kilos.

He is the largest pup of his litter, hes the most relaxed, the most quiet, the most loving and sweet. He is fine with any dog, any of our cats and basically we have at the farm. Even our chickens. Hes afraid of the ducks to be honest. We estimate him around 15-20 kilos when hes an adult so thats a medium size doggy.
Albus and Maeve, his 2 siblings are already adopted in Uk. Hopefully this sweety will be adopted too and they can fly together. Its a shame when we have to leave a pup behind in a pen when the others are adopted and flying. Open you heart to sweet Evan and help him find a home.

The pups are now almost 6 months old. Hurley is adopted, Jesse is in foster care in Uk but the rest pups are still here with us. Jester had his leg operated after being broken and hes still in the healing process. Simba, Amalia, Jasiri and Zuberi are still with us. Still in a pen waiting for someone to fall in love with them and it brings tears in our eyes when we hear people say, its not what we have in mind.
Amalia whos the cutie in our post, is the biggest in size pup. She isnt though big in size, shes small and will be medium size close to 15 kilos when shes adult. Shes playful, very cheerful, she loves everyone, she wants to play with everyone. Yes, she will sit and be quiet but after she will jump up and start playing again. Thats what pups do and thats what we said to a couple that visited us a few days ago and wanted only a quiet pup. They are babies so please dont ask us if we have quiet pups that dont bark, dont chew. People need to enjoy every part of their dogs life, its childhood, its teenage months, it adulthood. Cause time flys and you end up one day wanting you doggy to live longer and not go.

The shelter is not a place for her. She doesnt like it and shes showing it every day, every minute. Especially those eyes burn our soul every day but we dont have elsewhere to take her. Finding foster homes are like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
Sarah is a handover from her owner. You can guess why. Shes one of the dogs we took recently from the pound. One of the dogs taken to our vet from the dog warden. It would be brilliant if he could fly in next weeks flight and dont have to be any longer in a cage. We really hate seeing babies being in cages from being babies. Its so unfair.

A happy update for our sweet momma with her pup. Boths have gone to a loving home temporarily till they find forever homes. Theodora the spaniel with her pup Molly, enjoy life in a home with lots of love and care. Molly has already had an meeting with a potential adopter and now shes waiting to be picked up soon. Only Theodora is now looking for a home and hopefully she will find it soon.
Theodora is obviously a springer spaniel and shes 3-4 years old. Shes a young lady wĥo went though a lot and was unlucky so far. Shes got a kind and gentle soul. She is active but not the crazy active dog that spaniels usually are. It seems like she more mature than she should for her age. She loves her walks, the love and attention she gets. A quiet home maybe would be better for her. Theodora is fine with humans of any age, dogs of any age. We dont know with cats, spaniels usually arent goods with cats but since we didnt see her with cats, we dont know.

Hes gorgeous isnt he? Dexter is one of our pups, one of our rescues. We got him the day we got Festus. Dexter and his mom are the reason we went that day up on the hills.

Dexter and his mom are the reason we went that day up on the hills.We offered to take Dex and his siblings plus the mom when we saw the post asking for help to catch them. We have a soft spot for stray families and we knew the pups wouldn't survive the cold days of February. By the time we found the mom with her pups, workers in the area offered to adopt the pups so only Dexter was roaming with his mom. We cought him but unfortunately didnt manage to catch his mom. We still go to that area but we never saw her again.
Dexter has his moms looks and also her character. Hes so placid, so quiet and calm. Even though hes only 5 months old, its like hes 5-6 years old, hes got such a gentle behavior. We tested him with cats and hes super friendly. Hes super friendly with everything, he would never hurt anything, not even a fly. Hes one dog that we wouldnt mind keeping here with us. But with the climate we have here and the place we are, its not fair on him.

At last we managed to "make" space and bring her to us from the vet. She was there for a month after taken there from the pound. It would be much better if she was in a foster home or even adopted but not much luck with fosters in Cyprus.
Little Dione is a peki/jr mix and shes 8-9 months old. She was at the pound for almost 2 months before taken to the vet. This means she was a 5 months old pup when abandoned. As expected she got sick and shes lucky she survived. Shes humans oriented, shes fine with dogs but no cats. We tried her with our cats who are used to dogs and saw her reaction. If she had the chance, she would attack and maybe kill. Its a jr thing, we cant argue with that so its a cat free home for her.

The second doggy from the seven we got a few days ago. A young female beagle cross puppy thats in a bad shape as well. We called her Pandora, or Pandy shortly.
The photos dont show her real state but shes better than 4 days we go them. The doggy was dewormed twice due to a very swollen tummy. For 2 days she was pooing worms and now shes on antibiotics. She will be wormed again tomorrow and in another week to be 2 fully sure that the worms are dead. The bones at her back hips are sticking out and if her tummy werent swollen, she would have been skin and bones as well. She must be 8-10 months the max and her behavior verifies it. Pandy is behaving very puppyish. Poor baby must been eating garbage to get all those worms. Shes also scared and tries to hide behind the dog houses to avoid us. After a few treats she realised that we 're friends and she was all hugs and kisses bless her. Her owner was definitely a jerk for abandoning her.

Well hello from this beautiful boy. His name is Marino and hes the older brother of the peki pups we posted 2 weeks ago. Tasha, the gorgeous lady we posted a week ago, has 3 pups aged 9,5 months old and 6 aged 2 months old.
Marino is obviously a small size boy, hes around 8-9 kilos. As a male hes more build up than his mom. From his sisters, we know that their dad is a cyprus poodle. The two girls are more fluffly than him but hes also hairy and to be fair, he did need some grooming when we got him. He is sociable but also shy. The family lived in a kinda isolated place and even though they love the attention and petting, they dont know how to react. All 4 of them are very sweet doggies and need the help.

Shes come a loooong way bless her. From 7,2 kgs when found, shes almost 13 now and thats the weights she had while being in the same size. Imagine Leas state when she was found.
We have this sweet girl 1-2 months now. Lea was found lying in a field by a lady we know. She was too weak to stand up or run. The lady basically believed she was dead and went there to see and photograph the dog in case that someone lost it. Lea moved her head and the lady picked her up and took her to the vet straight away. She was full of wounds on her legs from walking among the bushes plus just skin and bones. Nothing to do with what she is now, a beautiful young dog that wants so much to be loved.
Lea is still afraid of humans, theres no point in denying that. We dont even wonna imagine what shes being through before she was found and shes so scared of people. We can tell that she wants so much to be pet, so much to be hugged but is afraid. The young pup whos close to a year old now, is medium size. She doesn't weight much but she leggy, shes tallish like hounds so shes not a small size dog. Shes fine with any dog and shes actually being bullied by some older and more confident dogs. With cats shes fine, she used to live with 3 at the ladys house when found. At the shelter she just watches them, she doesn't bark or try to catch them like other dogs so we're sure that shes friendly. She only needs a home bless her. Hes our smiley boy and hes smiling to us for almost 1,5 years now. Yes, thats how much we have Telis with us. 15 months, 450 days and more. You see we got Delia and Telis back in January 24 and ever since hes with us. Delia was lucky and got adopted but he didnt.
Telis is a young jura/shepherd mix, a sensitive doggy who pretty much loves anyone. Hes fine with humans, dogs but no cats. You will see him being happy and smile to anyone who will give him attention. He will lick you to death, he will give you cuddles. He will jump from joy cause you gave him attention. Thats our boy, a dog that never asked for more even though hes a young dog almost 2 years old. He needs to run and enjoy life in fields, not be in a cage almost all day. It really hurts us to see such dogs be in cages and not in a home.
If only someone could see what a wonderful character he is and give him a home. He so much deserves it but everyone is passing by him when they visit us. The same when we show his photos to people who want to adopt. Its like he doesn't exist.
