A smile we didnt expect to see so soon. A smile that made us actually proud today. Meet Socrates, a dog we got under a bit pressure to be honest cause as always we didnt have space. But when we heard his story, we said ok.
Socrates was an owned dog, he was owned with his sister by someone. That someone was a monster and the dogs story ended up with Socrates sister being killed aften beaten with a shovel. Socrates was taken away and the owner ended up in jail, hopefully for a lot of time. When we got him he was terrified, holding his head low. He was afraid that he was gonna get beaten again. We moved our hands when we were cleaning the cages and he weed on him. It took a lot of hugs, lots of kisses, many strokes and sweet talking to actually make him start walking, then running and playing like all our other dogs. Now, after 3-4 months, hes can stand and smile, be happy. We hope that we created lots of good memories for him even though they are memories in a shelter to make him forget all the beating he went through from his owner. Some times we see the fear passing by his eys when we have to shout so we can hear each other when we clean the cages. But we smile and cuddle him and the fear is gone. We only wished we could help with more dogs cause not all respond like Socrates.
Our sweet boy that of course needs a forever home, is a brittany spaniel cross around 3 years old. Most probably hes mixed with a pointer. We can see the cheerfulness of the pointer and the craziness of the spaniel. We us he can be as daft as he wants, to run all over and do zoomies like a nutcase. Hes large size around 20 kilos and hes fine with other dogs. Sometimes hes a bit too much for other dogs so he will need some training to learn manners. He doesn’t like cats but with his breeds, its understandable. Socrates can be adopted in Cyprus but also abroad. Hes a lovely boy and he can be an only dog or live with others. Its best if hes adopted in a family with children over 12 years old cause we dont think he actually lived with children ever. If anyone can help this boy and give him a life out of the cage, please message us. You can get our application form from our website. Download it and send it to our email address. If you ‘re having any difficulties, message us and we will send it to you. Adoption fee aplies and we do homechecks.
