We let him free to roam in the farm. After 2 panic attacks that gave us heart attacks, we let Vene roam free around the place. Its fully fenced anyway here, only if hes got springers on his legs he can escape.
Our Vene or Venetis if hes done something wrong, is now 2,5 years old? Hes been with us since he was 4 months old pup. We got him with his sister back them. A guy found them crying in a pit where they were dumped to die. His sister is now adopted in Uk since she was lucky and found a foster home. Vene wasnt though so lucky and he stayed here. He changed cage mates cause the other dogs were adopted and he wasnt. Since hes very calm and easy going, we were always putting the newcomers with him. Each time another dog came though he was stressed, he was afraid and we noticed at the 3rd dog we put him with. Then said we will put him with dogs he already knew. You see we swap the dogs in the cages every few months, we do it so the dogs will accept all dogs they meet and get socialised. Vene knew the dogs we have so we thought it was easier for him. Then one day when he was out for play time till we clean the cages, we saw him freezing. He was kinda freaking out? All the dogs were barking at him and he got terrified of it. He was shaking and couldn’t walk. It was like he was having a stroke. We rushed him to the vet, he had tests enad everything but he was clear. He was even playing with the vets. 2 weeks after it happened almost the same. We heard the dogs go wild and we saw him standing weirdly and not being able to walk. He was shaking and was falling when he tried to walk. He couldn’t coordinate his moves. This time though we remembered and took small videos of his reactions. We put him in the car and went straight to the vet clinic again. When the vet saw the videos he told us its a stroke. Vene stayed at the clinic and did an mri to check if he had any neurological damage. Mri showed nothing. The vet did every test he could think which honestly cost us a fortune. He even checked for epilepsy but Vene is fine. We still owe most of the tests and by the looks of it we will need to sell a kídneý to pay them. While the tests were done, Vene was all joy for the attention he was getting and the treats. The vet told us i cant explain it, the videos show a dog having a stroke but the tests show absolutely nothing. This time we didnt put him back in the cage when we returned at the shelter. We actually thought something we havent noticed before. Both times this happened, he was passing in front of the large dogs cages and they growled at him. Maybe he was afraid and his fear caused him the panic attacks? We let him free. Cause we know hes very placid, hes quiet and wouldnt hurt anything, we let him free to go where ever he wanted in the farms area.
Its 3 months now we are monitoring him and took him again for a folllow up check. Vene didnt hurt even a fly, he lives happily with 14 other dogs we have free and have mobility issues or are oldies. He also lives with our 40 cats who also roam free around the place. Hes a perfect dog now and we were right, he was scared of the other dogs barking at him cause hes a calm character. We know what place to ask for him now, a quiet home with one dog if possible to have a friend or no other dogs. He needs a home to be alone so he can enjoy life and the love of his family. Other dogs need to be only dogs cause they are dominant and he needs to be an only dog if possible cause hes so calm and quiet. Is there a home for him? Would anyone give him a home and of course lots of love? Vene is active, he loves long walks and running but he likes to be quiet.
