🐾 Vene’s Turn for a Home

He’s 3.5 years old now.

That’s more than 3 years in a cage. Three and a half years without knowing what it’s like to have a home, a family, or a sofa to curl up on. That’s 37 months. More than 1,100 days. A lifetime for a dog. 💔

And it breaks our hearts because Vene is such a beautiful, loving boy.

Venetis, or Vene as we call him, is one of the dogs who has been with us the longest. The only dog who has waited longer is Amara, another wonderful soul who deserves her own post.

Take a look through the photos on Vene’s profile and you’ll see just how much he’s changed since the day he arrived with us. He was such a frightened boy back then, but considering where he came from, it’s easy to understand why.

Vene’s sister was adopted a couple of years ago after finding a foster home. Having the chance to live in a home environment helped people see her true personality, and she quickly found her forever family. 🏡❤️

Vene hasn’t been as lucky.

No foster home has come along for him, and as the years pass, he becomes easier to overlook. People often assume that a dog who has spent so long in a shelter must have behavioural problems.

Vene doesn’t.

He’s a sweetheart. 🐶

He gets along well with other dogs, is fine with our cats, walks nicely on a lead, and knows how to behave in a home. The only thing he isn’t used to is young children, simply because we don’t have many visitors here. Sudden shouting and loud play can make him nervous. Other than that, he’s a gentle, well-mannered boy.

We won’t stop sharing his story. We won’t stop fighting for him until he finally finds the home he deserves. ✨

Vene is our baby, and we know just how special he is. We only wish more people could see what we see. 😔
