💔 Mike Is Still Waiting… And Still Afraid 💔🐾
Almost three months have passed since Mike arrived, and sadly, he is still so timid.
He still hesitates when people reach out to pet him. He still watches us carefully. He still looks like he’s waiting for something bad to happen 😔
We don’t know what happened to Mike before he came to us. We don’t know what his previous owner did or didn’t do. But whatever his past was, it left him afraid of people.
And that breaks our hearts every day.
Mike is a gorgeous young Spaniel boy, around 1.5–2 years old 🐶. He weighs about 18kg and is a lovely medium-sized dog with a sturdy build and the beautiful looks that make everyone stop and admire him.
But what we see when we look into his eyes isn’t beauty.
It’s fear.
The kind of fear that makes him flinch.
The kind of fear that makes him doubt kindness.
The kind of fear that makes him think he’ll be punished if he gets something wrong.
Yet despite everything, Mike doesn’t have a bad bone in his body ❤️
🐾 Friendly with other dogs
🐾 Gentle with people
🐾 No aggression whatsoever
🐾 Sweet, sensitive, and desperately wanting to trust
The problem is that shelter life isn’t helping him.
With so many dogs to care for every day, we simply can’t give Mike the one-to-one attention and socialisation he desperately needs. What he really needs is a foster home or, even better, a forever home where someone can patiently show him that not all humans are scary.
We truly believe that after a few months in a loving home, Mike will blossom into an incredible companion 🌸
As for cats 🐱, we honestly don’t know. When we take him for walks, he’s usually so focused on being nervous around people that he pays very little attention to them. We don’t expect him to be hostile, but we can’t guarantee how he would react.
What we can guarantee is this:
Mike deserves a chance.
He deserves to discover what it feels like to be loved without fear.
To sleep peacefully.
To trust.
To finally be somebody’s dog.
🏡 Mike is looking for a foster or forever home.
If you would like to adopt him, we have an application form and carry out home checks because we want to be absolutely certain our dogs are going to safe, loving homes. The process is straightforward, and we’re happy to explain everything.
Please message us if you’d like to help Mike start the next chapter of his life ❤️🐾
Sometimes the dogs who need the most patience become the dogs who love the deepest.
